## Why it exists

The right answer depends on what you are trying to preserve: a file, a workflow, a connection, or a private context.

## When to use it

Use the FAQ for orientation, then follow the linked guide when the answer affects your vault.

## Workflow

Find the question → read the short answer → open the linked page → test the workflow in a note or a copy of your vault.

## Questions

### Do I need an account?

No. Local writing and core vault workflows do not require an account.

### Are my notes portable?

Yes. Notes are ordinary Markdown files. Canvas boards use portable `.canvas` files.

### Can I use an Obsidian vault?

Yes. Open the same folder. Review [Obsidian Compatibility](<Obsidian Compatibility.md>) for the practical details.

### Does AI replace my notes?

No. Vault Intelligence and AI Graph work from your notes and should lead you back to source material.

> Optional cloud, plugins, and external AI providers have separate configuration and privacy considerations.
