Questions
Do I need an account?
No. Local writing and core vault workflows do not require an account.
Are my notes portable?
Yes. Notes are ordinary Markdown files. Canvas boards use portable .canvas files.
Can I use an Obsidian vault?
Yes. Open the same folder. Review Obsidian Compatibility for the practical details.
Does AI replace my notes?
No. Vault Intelligence and AI Graph work from your notes and should lead you back to source material.
OpenOnyx tip
When in doubt, ask: “Can I still open this file without OpenOnyx?” The answer should usually be yes.
